Privacy Policy

Quran Trivia ("the Game", "we", "us") is a multiplayer Quran trivia activity playable inside Discord or in a web browser. This policy explains what information the Game collects and how it is used. By playing the Game, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Discord identity (when playing via Discord): your Discord user ID, username, and avatar — used only to display your name, avatar, and score on the in-game leaderboard.
- Channel ID (when playing via Discord): the ID of the voice channel hosting the activity — used to identify the current game session.
- Guest identity (when playing in a browser): a randomly generated ID stored in your browser's local storage, so your score can follow you between sessions.
- Game data: your answers, answer timing, and score, which are stored in a Firebase Realtime Database to run the game and leaderboard.
2. How We Use the Data
- To operate the game: show everyone the same question at the same time, score answers, and rank players on a shared leaderboard.
- To let your score persist: if you leave and return, your score and rank are restored.
- To generate questions: the Game uses an AI service (opencode.ai) to create Quran trivia questions based on the open-source SGSS Quran. Questions are not personalized and are not tied to your identity.
3. Data Storage & Retention
Game data is stored on Firebase Realtime Database servers (operated by Google LLC). Scores persist so returning players keep their progress. You can request deletion of your data at any time via the contact details below, and we will remove your player record from the leaderboard.
4. Third-Party Services
- Discord Inc. — the embedded app SDK and OAuth provide your Discord identity for login. Discord's own privacy policy applies to your Discord account.
- Google Firebase — hosts game state (players, scores, answers, questions).
- opencode.ai — used to generate Quran trivia questions from the SGSS Quran text.
- Cloudflare — hosts and serves the Game itself.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We do not read Discord messages or channel content.
5. Children
The Game is a general-audience trivia activity and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
